Liberty Village

When it comes to old areas made new again, the city of Toronto is leading the way. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the largest city in Canada is at the heart of a nationwide movement to fill in and rejuvenate some of the older areas in order to accommodate citizens and halt the process of urban sprawl. Part of the process has seen a facelift for the entire downtown section of Toronto; condos for sale all over the downtown core have meant new and innovative designs that speak to the modern while rejecting the clutter. Some of the most exciting developments in the city taking place under the new umbrella of rejuvenation are occurring in the King West District.

This area used to be entirely industrial in nature, and the buildings left standing are a testament to the manufacturing and factory backbone so important to the history of the city. However, as a new global order has begun to take over, many of the factories have shut down, leaving buildings that are just begging for new life. Liberty Village developers have recognized the area's potential and the site is now undergoing one of the most ambitious projects that downtown Toronto has ever seen, as a former industry only district is being made into one of the most cutting edge master-planned communities to be found in the city.

At the heart of the master plan for the Liberty Village area are the ultra-modern, slick condominium complexes that form the perimeters of the 45 acre community. Liberty Village condos are the result of a co-operative effort by several developers to build a village within a city, and include projects such as Bliss Condos and Liberty Towers.

So, what exactly does it mean to have a village in a city? Well, for starters anyone living in the Liberty Village neighbourhood is just a couple of blocks away from downtown Toronto. This means everyone is just a few steps away from cutting edge shopping, business opportunities, and multiple employment options.

What the village aspect means is that residents are sheltered from the rush of the life that the city entails and have their own little enclave that they can call home. The Village includes clubs, shops, and restaurants of its own and the centrepiece of the area is the beautiful Trinity Bellwoods Park.
