Colleges And Universities Near Your Toronto Condo Listings

Every year in our city, thousands of students head off as new or returning students to the different upper education institutions found in the city. They can look forward to a few days of relaxation, maybe even a look at Toronto condo listings, and then the hard work of learning and training for a degree will begin. In fact, the student in Toronto has access to more upper educational opportunities than anywhere else in Canada, as the city contains three universities, numerous colleges, and dozens of different industry focused schools.

Universities

With three major university campuses located in the city, Toronto is the place in Canada to be for any student looking for access to any career field. The first university listed in the group will always be the University of Toronto. This is one of the oldest universities in the country, as well as the largest. Every year, more than 65,000 students attend classes at the campuses in downtown Toronto, Scarborough, and Mississauga. The program reach and scope is vast; there are degrees for those seeking admission to the bar as well as programs designed for those wishing to speak English as a second language in Canada.

The second largest university in Toronto, and the third largest in the country, is York University, with a population of over 50,000 students. York University includes the largest law school in Canada and the Schulich School of Business. The former will teach you how to make a career as a Toronto print broker, while the latter place you with a firm defending the print broker's assets.

Last and least of the universities in Toronto in population terms is Ryerson University. With a population of just over 20,000, this university is researched focused and still very large by Canadian standards. The Faculty of Communication and Design is the place to look if you are interested in electronic manufacturing or any other technological pursuits.

Colleges

For those looking for a faster track to a career, and a less expensive one as well, Toronto offers many colleges to choose from. These include the Ontario College of Art and Design, the fourth largest art school on the entire continent. Photography, Integrated Media, and Art Criticism are all majors offered here. Students can also enrol in the faculty of design, which offers majors including graphics design and other high tech design programs.

When deciding whether to go to a college or a university in Toronto, a person needs to decide what their long term goals are. If you wish to be a licensed psychiatrist, with prescription power and prestige, a university education is necessary. However, many people practicing cognitive behavioural therapy in Hamilton and elsewhere took a two year program through a college. As a general rule, college educations cost much less, but university educations allow a person to make more.
